Vision 2020 Australia is now the single peak body for service providers working in the blindness and low vision sector, following the announcement last week regarding its integration with the Australian Blindness Forum (ABF) . With the ABF being a standing AIPI member, we welcome Vision 2020 to the initiative.

Vision 2020 Australia CEO Judith Abbott says, “Vision 2020 Australia is excited to be joining the AIPI in its mission to improve access to published material for Australians living with print disabilities. On behalf of our members we look forward to working with the publishing industry and all stakeholders to support this important initiative.”

According to the organisation’s media release, “This [organisational] change will provide a strong, single voice for the sector, continuing the work already underway with our member organisations to strengthen opportunities for full participation of people who are blind or have low vision in the community.”

Ms Abbott says, “The coming together of Vision 2020 Australia and the Australian Blindness Forum will create a strengthen and more effective advocate to ensure their voices are clearly heard on a range of important issues.”
